Honey can be used in many different ways, just like sugar. Mostly we are just not used to in using honey like that, as people seem to see honey as something that is thought for a specific use. Many people have a jar of sugar standing on the kitchen table, so honey accompanies or replaces it well in the same way. It’s good to have honey on sight, so you remember to use it in everyday life for a balanced diet.

You don’t need as much honey as sugar to create the same amount of sweetness. Honey contains about 20% less calories than white sugar, so it is a better and healthier option for sweetening.

Here are some tips for using honey:

• As a pure honey
  Enjoy a spoonful of honey as a dessert after a meal. Honey helps to digest food and helps your body to utilize the nutrients.
• In tee, coffee or other drinks
  Especially the flavoured honey gives amazing taste experience to different drinks.
• For working out
  Mix a little bit of honey in your sports drink bottle. It gives you energy during the performance and helps you to recover afterwards
• To spice up your cooking
  Honey is sweet and sour and it’s great for meat dishes, woks and sauces
• Side dishes
• Salad dressings
• With root vegetables
  Honey gives root vegetables a beautiful colour and enhances the flavors.
• Preserving frozen berries
  You can pour honey on berries or make a puré with it. Puréd honey berries are especially tasty with game dishes.
• For breakfast
  With cereal, porridge, yoghurt, cheese or toast. How about a smoothie with berries or fruit and honey?
• Flavoring desserts
  Honey with crepes, waffles or pancakes is yummy! Try honey also with ice cream or quark, or with and desserts with berries and fruit.
• Baking
  Bakery items baked with honey stay fresh longer. Replace some of the sugar with honey.
• Glazing
  Glaze oven fresh buns and other baked goods with a milk-honey mixture.
